UV Melamine 840 — the humidity grade. 80±5 HD with a moisture-sealed face. It is the default for 6–16 layer boards and for any line running in a humid plant or on flex-rigid/FPC work where you want the softer, more forgiving surface. UV Melamine 880 — the HDI & back-drill main grade. 80±3 HD on an 880 kg/m³ core with a UV-cured melamine face. Low smear, high location accuracy, good drill-life balance.
UV Melamine 950 — the microvia grade. 83±3 HD on a denser 950 kg/m³ core with ≤0.10 mm flatness and ≤0.05 mm typical exit burr. That extra density resists compression better than 880 when vias drop below Ø0.15 mm and tolerances tighten. Pair it with coated lubricant aluminum for the best microvia accuracy.

The honest read: phenolic is still the hardest and cleanest (90±5 HD, very low smear), but it carries a premium price and a higher formaldehyde load. HDF is the cheap workhorse but gives up hardness, moisture sealing and smear control.
